The Loire region is renowned for its fine cuisine and local produce.

Many of the dishes which we consider French have their origins in the Loire.

There are restaurants to suit every pocket from a simple bistro to 5 star indulgence all within a mile or two of Vouvray, which itself has three venues to choose from.

L'Oubliette restaurant which is in a troglodyte cave (picture above right) is only a short drive from the manoir.

The many markets in the region are an ideal place to pick up "something to take home". The city of Tours is famous for its large boulevard market and a morning spent tasting and choosing is great fun.
